Video marketing is a powerful tool in the armoury of any business, but some use it far better than others. Workshop Media likes to keep an eye on the video marketing trends making an impact. Here’s a quick look at five of the best video marketing examples from around the world in 2014.
5: McDonalds – Our Food, Your Questions
McDonalds created a video to respond to some of the criticisms levelled at them from the public. They chose Grant Imahara from the popular Discovery show Mythbusters to front their campaign. An inspired choice, as Mythbusters is a trusted brand in its own right. The video has pulled in nearly 3.5 million views on YouTube since it was published in October 2014.
4: Google – Year in Search 2014
The ubiquitous Google scored big with their review of the year, uploaded to YouTube in December 2014. It has reached over 31.6 million viewers in just over one month. It is the perfect blend of inspirational and melancholy, with references to moments of deep sadness and great joy.
3: TVC Thai Life Insurance – Unsung Hero
This beautiful video promoting TVC tugs right at the heartstrings with its depiction of one man’s quest to spread happiness. With over 28 million views since April last year, it has definitely added value to the company’s brand.
2: Save The Children – Second a Day
This video, made for Save the Children’s #SaveSyriasChildren campaign is a stunning piece of marketing. It follows one year in the life of a British child going through some of the horrific situations that children in war zones across the world suffer. It ends with the stark message “Just because it isn’t happening here doesn’t mean it isn’t happening”.
1: The Lego Movie
Wait, what? A movie? Does that even count?
It certainly does. The Lego Movie was a $60 million blockbuster that has made around $470 million worldwide since its release in February 2014. It is, in essence, a $60 million toy advert, adding huge value to the worldwide brand recognition for Lego.
