We have recently added a Facebook page to our compliment of social media. If you like us, why not ‘Like’ us on Facebook, either on the page or on the handy widget below.
Its Taken Long Enough!
We jumped on Twitter as our primary form of communication so why did we take so long with Facebook? Its our belief that in order to get social media to work, you have to know what you are going to be talking about first. We asked ourselves several questions:
1. Do we need a Facebook page?
This question doesn’t get asked enough… leading to static and out of date pages. Better not to have it than have it and not use it
2. What will be the featured content?
We use Twitter to make people aware of our new blog posts so we didn’t want to double that up. We wanted to share content that was relevant to what we do and was suited to Facebook. What we decided on was to use Facebook to share interesting and funny videos and links we found in our travels online. The lighter side of video marketing! This will stimulate comments and likes while we can share with our fans the best of the videos we find.
3. Who will manage the page?
We use Hoot Suite to handle all our social media feeds and we find that it works well to keep track of everything in one place and to schedule content in advance. This means that it isn’t that much extra work.
4. How often will we post?
The regularity of social media posting is important. This depends on the type of social media feed you are posting to. It is recommended that you post on Facebook every other day and focus on the morning and evening for posts. Why? Because these times are when people are most active. Every other day seems like a very relaxed schedule but if you think about it, it makes sense. We are posting as a business not a person, we don’t want our fans to ‘unLike’ us because we are filling their feeds.
All that’s left for you to do now is to head on over to our page and ‘Like’ it
